In fact, their medicines are accessible to patients in more than 75 countries around the world, and more than 250 million prescriptions are filled with its products every year. Having recently acquired by a leading New York-based private equity firm, which focuses on the specialty materials, chemicals, and pharmaceutical sectors, the organization’s leadership and the private equity firm have plans to significantly expand both the scale and scope of its businesses.
Ideally based in either Toronto, Ontario, Westin, Florida, or the Northeastern region of the United States, the Vice President, Alliance Management (“Vice President”) is a critical leadership role with responsibility for creating the environment and processes to maximize the value of global strategic partnerships.
A newly created role, the Vice President will oversee and strengthen 40+ key partnership relationships across the U.S, India, and Europe, assessing all aspects of partnerships (i.e. quality, reliability, responsiveness, ability to meet deadlines and knowledge of the market) to ensure that each partnership is productive and delivers mutually beneficial business outcomes. This includes introducing alliance management best practices and establishing the governance structure and KPIs to track and measure partnership excellence.
Reporting directly to the Chief Corporate Development Officer, the Vice President, will possess an extensive network within the pharmaceutical industry and will act as an ambassador of the organization’s brand with the ability to succinctly and compellingly communicate and ensure alignment with both internal stakeholders and external partners.
Critical to success in this role will the candidate’s problem-solving capabilities, keen attention to detail, a high degree of emotional intelligence as well as the ability to effectively develop meaningful relationships cross functionally and globally to deliver against the organization’s business objectives.
An experienced pharmaceutical leader, the successful candidate brings broad knowledge of commercial, R&D, regulatory, QA, manufacturing, finance, and IP, with evident strategic thinking, mediation, and negotiation skills combined with bachelor’s degree in business administration, science, or a related discipline. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of leadership experience gained within complex, dynamic and fast-paced global pharmaceutical organizations. An MBA, MSc or other advanced degree is considered an asset.
