TORONTO, ONT – December, 2020 – Bedford Consulting Group is pleased to congratulate Rosa Checchia as she begins her new role as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for the Dairy Farmers of Ontario (DFO); the marketing organization and regulatory body representing approximately 3,400 dairy farms in Ontario, Canada. Annually, Ontario dairy farms produce $2.3 billion worth of milk making them the largest agricultural sector in the province. Dairy farmers in Ontario produce approximately 32 percent of Canada’s milk.
Rosa is an accomplished marketing executive with over 20 years of experience in directing and leading marketing in the dairy industry. Most recently, she held the position of VP Marketing at Lactalis Canada, and was instrumental in leading the merger and acquisition of the Kraft Heinz Natural Cheese Business into Lactalis Canada – a $1.6 Billion acquisition and largest dairy acquisition in Canadian history. Rosa is also the recipient of Parmalat Champion Awards, the Star Women of Grocery 2019, Best New Product and Most Trusted Brand Awards and is currently an active member of the Toonies for Tummies Steering Committee for The Grocery Foundation.
Previously as VP Marketing of the Cultured Division, Rosa led $146 million in sales, and was successful in generating $3 million in profit, while working with a $7 million marketing budget. She also launched Astro Original brand into the Quebec market and grew Astro Original to be the #1 Natural yogurt in Canada.
