MX Petroleum Corp. was started in 1989 as a wholesale supplier of fuel oil and gasoline to retail businesses in Northern New York. With the acquisition of smaller fuel companies and through a combination of superior service and competitive pricing, the business has grown to serve all of Northern New York.
Based at MX’s head office in Massena, New York, the General Manager is a critical leadership role with overall responsibility for leading the sales/business development strategy and overseeing the daily operations to ensure exceptional customer service through timely and cost effective deliveries. Critical to success will be the incumbent’s ability to quickly gain credibility and buy-in across the business, while building upon existing strengths, improving margins and efficiencies, profitability and delivering consistent growth.
The GM will report to the President of MX Petroleum Corp. and will be responsible for leading a capable team of approximately 65 in sales, marketing, operations (fleet), dispatch and supply. He/she will hold full P&L accountability and will be mandated with delivering overall sales and business development, operational excellence, outstanding customer management, and strong leadership across the portfolio. The GM will work to develop and execute strategies, mentor his/her team, and seek to identify opportunities in the market to ensure the sustained success of the division.
The successful candidate is credible, driven, results oriented, and self-motivated, with a “roll up your sleeves” attitude. He/she will be a sales leader who brings a proven track record of delivering operational excellence, and possesses the people management expertise to build highly motivated and committed teams in a results focused environment. Additionally, he/she will be a down-to-earth leader with exceptional communication, planning, financial and leadership skills.
